We believe in discretion, clarity, and control. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

1) Personal Information We Collect

We collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be linked with you ("Personal Information"). The categories we collect depend on how you interact with us.

A. Information you provide directly

  • Identifiers & Contact Details: name, email address (so we may respond to your needs), phone number (for shipping updates), billing and shipping addresses.

  • Order & Subscription Details: products selected, plan type, delivery frequency, communications and preference settings.

  • Reading Preferences (Optional): links to or exports from services such as Goodreads or StoryGraph, genres you enjoy, favorite authors, formats, content triggers, and other notes you share to help us curate. We do not request or store your Goodreads/StoryGraph passwords; please do not send credentials.

  • Allergies & Sensitivities (Optional): notes about fragrance sensitivities or ingredient/material avoidance (e.g., certain essential oils). Used only to tailor your box and avoid potential irritants.

B. Information collected automatically

When you use the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect:

  • Device/Usage Data: IP address, browser type/version, device identifiers, time zone, referring/exit pages, pages viewed, links clicked, and how you interact with the Site.

  • Cookies & Similar Technologies: cookies, pixels, tags, and web beacons used for Site functionality, analytics, and (where permitted) advertising. See Cookies & Similar Technologies below.

C. Information from service providers & partners

  • Payment & Fraud-Prevention Data: transaction status, limited card metadata, and risk signals from our payment processor(s). We do not receive or store full payment card numbers.

  • Shipping Data: tracking numbers, delivery status, and related carrier updates from USPS.

  • Advertising/Analytics Data (where used): aggregate insights and ad performance metrics from advertising partners.

D. Inferences we create

To personalize your curation and improve our Services, we may create inferences about your tastes and interests from the information described above (e.g., preferred genres, pacing, themes, or scent tolerance where you’ve told us about it).

We do not request medical records or diagnoses. If you choose to share limited allergy or sensitivity information (e.g., fragrance sensitivities or ingredient/material avoidance), we treat it as sensitive and use it solely to tailor curation and avoid potential irritants. Please do not send detailed medical information.

2) How We Use Personal Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and personalize the Services: process orders, curate and ship boxes, manage accounts, and tailor selections based on your stated preferences.

  • Communicate with you: order confirmations, shipping updates, service notices, and—only as permitted—newsletters or offers (unsubscribe any time).

  • Process payments & prevent fraud: via our payment processor(s) and fraud-screening tools.

4) Advertising & Analytics

Where permitted by law and your settings, we may use cookies and similar technologies to help us and our partners show you relevant ads and measure their effectiveness.

We honor opt-out preference signals where required by law.

We keep Personal Information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Services, complying with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements. If you request deletion, we will also retain the minimum necessary records to document compliance and for legitimate business purposes, as permitted by law.
